“Macbeth released last week their plans for a new series of footwear called Studio Projects, featuring limited edition sneakers designed by some of today’s hottest artists in rock including Hunter Burgan of AFI, Fred Mascherino of Taking Back Sunday and of course…Tom Delonge from Angels And Airwaves. Continuing the success of the AVA Bonham, Tom took the sneaker to a personal level and added his own art from a canvas painting he made off-tour that was centered around one of his favourtite topics…outerspace. He also opted to make it vegan as his tastes are trending toward motr enviromentally friendly products. The line is set to hit US stores in March and the rest of the world in April. Each pair will come with it’s own collection of customized guitar picks”

The Hunter “Stay Fresh” Eliot
Hunter Burgan of AFI was looking for a shoe that complimented his Vegan lifestyle. He worked together with the Macbeth design team to create a Limited Edition, white, synthetic leather Eliot, one of Macbeth’s signature shoe models. Hunter customized the Eliot with his “fresh” personal style and designed the color story to work with the all-white stage production used on the current AFI world tour. Hidden under the sock liner is a web address for Hunter’s own Macbeth Vegan blogging site, where he and a group of very different but equally passionate vegans will post about all things vegan.

The “F.P. Mascherino” velcro Eliot
Fred Mascherino of Taking Back Sunday wanted velcro Eliot’s so bad that when Macbeth finally designed them he customized his own pair. To Fred, Velcro is the ultimate slacker’s invention. “Its quick-on, quick-off and more comfy than tight laces”. Keeping Fred’s comfort and durability needs in mind the traditional canvas was updated to a rip-stop canvas upper while maintaining a completely Vegan shoe. Under the PU sock liner, you will find Fred’s personal quote “i pace the floors, this empty house compare its contents to myself.” Fred also collaborated with Jude Iannelli to create the artwork for the Eliot Velcro. Taking Back Sunday has been a part of the Macbeth family since its inception in 2002.

The Tom Nylon “Bonham”
The Bonham was developed for Tom Delonge of Angels And Airwaves, formerly of the multi-platinum band Blink-182. Tom D. wanted a shoe that was classic, lo-profile and at the same time, durable. Following the success of the Angels And Airwaves leather Bonham, Tom customized the sneaker by adding his own artwork from paintings he created during downtime off tour for the Summer 2007 Studio Projects collection. The Tom Bonham has a rich chocolate nylon upper to give it modern vegan edge. To add personal flavor, Tom inserted the quote “space, the final frontier… and yet, the beginning of intergalactic sex parties” under the PU insole, which is a great example of his infamous and random sense of humor.
